Brainspotting is a powerful mindfulness method that uses eye positions, body sensations and bilateral music to help you identify, process and release core neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain. Most clients report feeling significantly better after their first session.
Brainspotting targets the emotion part of your brain where “stuck stress” is stored. This stuck stress can cause mental health and physical health issues.
In a brainspotting session, you do not have to talk about your trauma and painful experiences. You don’t have to talk very much at all, unless you want to. The brainspotting process is simple, non-invasive and requires little effort, yet it is extremely effective in improving your mental health and wellbeing.
Have you ever noticed when you're talking, you may look at the person you're talking to, but your eyes also dart around the room? Or have you noticed when someone is talking to you, their eyes move around a lot? Have you ever heard, if we notice the direction someone is looking, we can tell if they're lying or not?
Fun fact: Your eyes are part of your brain.
Brain activity, information and memories, organized themselves around eye positions. When you think or talk, your eyes move to the positions that help you access the information you need.
What is a brainspot? A brainspot is the eye position that is connected to an issue.
During your brainspotting session, you can listen to bilateral music that flows gently from one ear to the other, back and forth. Bilateral music is proven to reduce stress, improve cognitive functioning and facilitate neurological repair.
I will guide you in finding your brainspot (the eye position connected to what you want to work on).
Once an eye position is found, you stay in that eye position for a while and let your thoughts flow. While the music plays, you simply notice thoughts as they come and go. This time is called "processing.”
There are no rules about what you should or shouldn't think about during your processing time. You can change eye positions and even close your eyes.
During processing, you can talk as much or as little as you want. Many clients process silently. Some clients will occasionally share thoughts, emotions or physical sensations they are experiencing.
Clients report that brainspotting feels like effortless meditation.
Clients report leaving brainspotting feeling relaxed and peaceful.
It is common for clients to experience both rapid relief of distress and profound insights.

“I have personally experienced the benefit of brainspotting. Just with one session, I was able to relax the grip of a burdensome perspective, and its associated emotions, both of which I had carried for a long time.”
